A skier starts at the top of a ski jump , which is 25.0 m above his landing point on the slope below . The ski jump is assumed to be frictionless .

(a) With what velocity will the skier touch the ground ? (use principle of conservation of energy ) .

(b) After landing let us assume that there is some friction on the ground. Use the work-energy principle to calculate the stopping distance of the skier if the coefficient of kinetic friction between the skier and the ground is 0.60 .
