A cylinder containing monatomic gas and closed by a movable piston.The cylinder is submerged in an ice-water mixture.The piston is quickly pushed down from the top postion closer to the bottom. The piston is held there until the gas is again at 0 degrees celcius and then it is slowly raised back up to it,s orginal position. If 100 grams of ice are melted during the cycle, how much work has been done on the gas?
