An ideal gas occupies a volume of 1.0 cm cubed at 20 degrees c and atmospheric pressure. Determin the number of molecules of gas in the container (b) if the pressure of the 1 cm cubed volume is reduced to 1.0 x10 to the -11 Pa, while the tempurature remains constant, how many moles of gas remain in the container?

How do I evaluate this limit?

e = lim [ x->00] (1 +1 /x)^x

I Want to know how to algebraically arrive at the value of e. Do I used factoring?

Refraction
Light rays are incident on aparallel-sided glass slab of refractive
Index=1.40 at an angle of 50 degrees.
If the slab is standing in air draw alabelled diagram ( Not to scale) Showing the path of the light through the block by calculations show that the as the angle of incidence.

Since the energy field (E) is directed upward I took this to say that the surround charges are positive and the charges above the could are negative. I got the same answer when I worked the problem but thought the negative force value meant the force was directed downward.

I got an answer of .28 x 10 - 11 N using a method identical to yours. I tried to find a math error with my work but everything came up clean. Just wondering if you could see anything on this.

I was multipling the total number of electrons by 99/100 instead of 1/100. The question asked about the golden losing 1 persent of its electrons so I figured that 99 persent were remaining. Is my thinking off with that one?

Q point is refered to in my text book as derived from the word quiescent which means still or unvarying. Its on the graph of a  diode with ac current It also goes on to say in my text with no applied varying signal the point of operation would be the Q-point determined by the applied dc levels. Some students marks are recorded for an assignment. The lecturer wanted to see how well the group had done so she asked them to represent the data as abar chart. She advised the students to construct a grouped frequency table by putting the markes into class intervals of 10 marks width between 1 and 60

23 28 50 35 38 56 55 34 46 19
27 29 42 56 37 42 36 29 16 40
24 38 45 36 40 34 35 35 39 57

a. Draw a grouped frequency table to show the frequency distribution of the data
b. Draw a bar chart to represent the data
c. Identify the mid - interval values and extend your table so that you can determine the mean of the marks.
d. What percentage f the students obtained a mark of over 40 persent
e. Arrange the data in a suitable way to obtain the mode and median of the marks.

Astrophysics
In 1054 AD chinese astronomers noted the appearance of a guest star that is a previously unseen star in the sky that then over time dimmed in brightness. Today we know that even as the supernova that created the crab Nebula.
(a) If the original star was 5.55 x 10^16 km away how many years ago did the star really explode?
(b) If astronomers used detectors to look for light from sodium with a frequency of 5.09 x 10^14 Hz what is the wavelength in nm of the light?
(c)One of the ways that astronomers look for evidence of extraterrestrial life is to look for signals at the radio wavelength of 21.0cm. Find the frequency of this radiation in Hz.
